What is ooVoo?
- ooVoo was founded in April 2006, and launched in June 2007. The company’s vision is to be recognized as the best in class video-driven communication service delivered anywhere, anytime over the internet: on the computer, web, mobile device, and HD conference room or living room.
- ooVoo is a high-quality, multi-point video and audio communication service that enables consumers and businesses to connect “face-to-face” using standard hardware (PCs, TV, and now mobile) and standard broadband connections.
- ooVoo has 10 million users worldwide and is adding more than 600,000 new users per month. There were more than 40 million video conversations conducted on ooVoo in 2009 with annual run rates showing 2.5 billion minutes of video calls.
- ooVoo is uniquely positioned to be the leading video communication solution for consumers and businesses at the point of convergence for three markets: the web collaboration business service; high-end video conferencing or telepresence and the consumer-centric video chat markets.

- RECORD VIDEO CHATS: ooVoo paid users can record, archive and share their video conversations to any of the social networking sites including Facebook, YouTube and MySpace.
- DESKTOP SHARING: Share your photos, presentations or your web browsing session from your desktop with everyone in a video call by clicking the desktop sharing icon.
- VIDEO MESSAGES: ooVoo lets users record unlimited video messages of up to 1 minute per message with the free ooVoo plan, or up to 5 minutes per message with ooVoo paid plans. Video messages can be received by any email address or saved for sharing on social media sites.
- ONLINE VIDEO ROOMS: All ooVoo users can create a video chat room to host Web-based video chats. Users can host chats in their personal room on the ooVoo Web site or create the room on any other Web site. Free ooVoo plan users have one customizable room; paid users can have up to five rooms.
- TEXT CHAT: Users can text chat (instant message) with contacts during or separately from video calls.
- SEND FILES: ooVoo paid plans offer file transfers of up to 25 MB each, with the ability to send up to 20 files at a time to an unlimited number of contacts.
- CROSS-PLATFORM CAPABILITIES: Facilitates easy communication between Macs and PCs.
- CALL NON-OOVOO FRIENDS: ooVoo users can video call people haven’t installed the ooVoo application via the ‘Web Video Call’ feature. This simple but unique solution allows people to easily join a video chat via a web browser with no installation required.
- OOVOO ME LINK: Users can include a click-to-call ooVoo link in their blogs, social networking pages, e-mail signatures and more.
- PHONE CALLS: ooVoo users can add phone participants to a video conference or call landlines and mobile phones directly starting at $0.02 per minute (currently to 18 countries). Add up to six phone lines to create calls with 12 participants – six on video and six by phone.
- FIND FRIENDS WIZARD: ooVoo users can search for friends within a wide range of online social environments such as email applications, social networks, and messaging applications; import contacts from the most popular email programs (i.e. Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo mail, etc.); find friends who are already using ooVoo; and invite new friends via email or video message. Now friends can be added to your contact list using ooVoo’s current URL link invite feature.
- API: Developers can place ooVoo within Web pages and users can enjoy speaking live in ooVoo’s high quality video from websites or other online applications. Developers can build applications on top of the ooVoo platform and sell them in the ooVoo online store.

- High Resolution Video Quality - Show yourself to your call participants in High-Res. Pay only $0.10 per minute, and show yourself in high res to as many participants as you like.
